Ripple has partnered with Immunefi to strengthen on-chain security ahead of the upcoming launch of the XRP Ledger’s (XRPL) institutional lending protocol. The program, valued at $200,000, invites ethical hackers and blockchain researchers to identify vulnerabilities and improve the protocol’s resilience before deployment. As a result, Ripple aims to ensure the system can meet the security demands of institutional finance.
The upcoming XRPL lending system will introduce native features such as pooled lending, collateralized borrowing, and automated repayments for regulated institutions. Ripple aims to make lending on XRPL secure, transparent, and efficient while providing access to tokenized liquidity for enterprise markets. The initiative signals Ripple’s push to extend the XRP Ledger beyond payments into institutional-grade decentralized finance.
Immunefi, one of Web3’s leading security platforms, will oversee the bug bounty challenge. Ethical hackers can earn rewards based on the severity of their findings, with top payouts reaching $200,000.
“Security must lead innovation,” said Ethan Lloyd, Ripple’s Head of Protocol Security. “We want to find and fix every issue before institutions start using XRPL’s lending system.”
Immunefi’s CEO Mitchell Amador added that open testing represents “a turning point for enterprise blockchain maturity,” emphasizing that Ripple’s proactive stance reflects a new standard for institutional DeFi infrastructure.

The bug bounty program began in mid-October with global participation expected from cybersecurity researchers and blockchain developers. Participants will analyze XRPL’s smart contracts, stress-test liquidity components, and submit reports directly to Immunefi for validation.
Ripple and Immunefi will publish key findings and improvements after the review phase, providing transparency for the community. A post-bounty report and AMA session will also be held to share insights from the challenge.
This initiative highlights a growing trend in open-source security testing across blockchain networks. By combining enterprise-level development with community-driven protection, Ripple aims to set a higher benchmark for transparency and trust.
The Ripple Immunefi bug bounty could strengthen confidence among financial institutions as XRPL positions itself as a secure, compliant platform for tokenized lending and liquidity management, according to Immunefi’s official announcement.
